Jerry’s water color of Cashel Rock in Cahir. This was our first day plein air painting with the group.
As I mentioned, Jerry loves plein air painting and he’s exceptionally good at it. His work needs to be included in the next “Sketchbook Show” at the Koa Gallery at KCC.

Helen Golding loved everything Jerry painted and wanted to buy most of his work. He wouldn’t sell it to her, but he gave her one – and she repaid him with a Guinness when we were in a pub in Inis Oirr, in the Aran Islands.

The Portal Tomb in the Burren by Jerry Mayfield

Some German visitors to the Burren’s P:ortal Tomb.
We were totally rained out in Killarney, where we had planned to paint a city scene. So we went inside a very old pub and spent the morning chatting with the publican, Paddy (what else) and his cronies. And, natch, Jerry sketched these raucous characters.

Raising a glass at Reidy’s Pub, Killarney

The art of conversation is not lost in Killarney. In this case, talk turned to the horses.

Jerry always finds an interesting angle to paint, and he will perch anywhere to maintain the view.

Our last painting day, on the Dingle Peninsula. This is right near where several scenes in the latest “Star Wars” were filmed.

Our jousting cart on Inis Oirr with the horse, Jack, and the driver, Ronan. But Ronan was much more handsome than this!

Just a little something that caught Jerry’s eye. So elegant and simple!
It is so wonderful traveling and painting with Jerry. He is uber-talented and has such a unique artist’s eye.
