Riding on the success of last year’s Indigo Show, fishcake presents Indigo Indigo, featuring the work of three textile artists: Ann Asakura, Akemi Cohn and Donna Miyashiro.

Fishcake reached out to the three artists, asking them to take their creative impulse a step further and to play, challenge themselves and experiment with indigo.

Curator for the show is Keiko Hitano, who said in a news release: “Usually indigo is more utilitarian, for cushions, towels and sometimes clothing. What will happen if we use indigo on different materials and mediums? How can the artists add their own twist to this tradition?”

During the show, everyday items made of indigo dyed materials will be for sale at the fishcake showroom.

Indigo Indigo runs from today through October 18, 2015. Viewing hours are from Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
