Are you at a loss looking for something creative and inspiring for your child or teen to do this summer? Look no further than Hifi’s Coop, where Feliz Salas will be teaching two creative classes for the emerging fashion lover in your world. He or she can learn to create fun and whimsical accessories,as well as how to sketch a fashion design that’s twirling in his or her head. And neither class requires a huge commitment of time – or money!

Here are details:

DIY Upcycled Accessories for Keiki and Teens

Class description: Create your own one-of-a-kind eco-friendly accessories from repurposed materials. Give new life to your old clothing, shoes, and anything else you can think of! Learn how to make and embellish your own jewelry, hair accessories, small purses, and re-designed shoes. We will start a new project for each session and students can go home with four different types of accessories at the end of the class.

Students are encouraged to bring in old materials that they choose to work with. Old and used clothing, jewelry, tote bags, hats, and canvas shoes are preferred. Additional craft materials will be provided along with students’ own. No prior experience necessary. Class is open to ages 9-17.
