For the first time in Hawaii, there will be  trunk show of RTW (Ready to Wear) from the prestigious Kyoto design house of renowned textile artist Akihiko Izukura.

Prices will be slashed up to 70 percent off.

For those who attended the trunk show last year in the Ilikai Hotel, please know that this is entirely different inventory. Last year, Izukura-san was showing his current wearable art, which was handwoven and sun dyed. This trunk show will feature RTW that is handwoven and natural dyed, but with different styles and construction. It’s sort of like the difference between couture and designer, with this being designer garments with the island woman in mind. The selections were made by Izukura-san and  Toyoko Motojima, based on their understanding of what we want and need for our climate and lifestyles. They have learned a lot during the past year as they have traveled back and forth monthly between Honolulu and Kyoto.

The trunk show will be available for only three days:

Friday, November 30, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 pm.

Saturday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 7:30p.m.

Sunday, December 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Location: Ala Moana Hotel, 410 Atkinson Drive, phone 955-4811

Ask for the room number at the front desk.

or in Japanese: Toyoko Motojima, phone 347-266-1628
