One of the nation’s most respected emerging designers, Doo-Ri Chung, has completed an anxiously awaited capsule collection exclusively for Impulse at Macy’s. It has just arrived in our Honolulu stores and it’s one of those collections (like Karl Lagerfeld’s) that is likely to fly out of the store, so go now.

Doo-Ri is a Korean American best known for her exquisite draping techniques. She graduated from Parsons School of Design, cut her teeth at Geoffrey Beene, then went on to win a CFDA Award in 2006 which placed her firmly on the fashion map.

Prices for the exclusive Macy’s pieces range from $39 for tops and tunics to $149 for a faux leather jacket. Dresses run about $69 – $75.

Macy’s is known for its niche in popular culture and the diversity of its merchandise. It competes with Belk, Bon-Ton, and Dillard’s; more upscale facilities compete with Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, and Saks Fifth Avenue. It has produced the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City since 1924, and sponsored the City’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display since 1976. Macy’s flagship was, and is still being advertised as, the largest in the world, and draws shoppers from well beyond the New York City Metropolitan Area.^;.,
