Although not that many women wear suits in Hawaii, when you need a suit, you need a suit…and nothing else will do. Whether you’re a lawyer going to court or a branding person meeting with a board or a job applicant for a Bishop Street corporation or a politician behind a podium, sometimes a suit is the only appropriate thing to wear.

One of the complaints I often hear from pregnant working moms is: Where can I find a suit that will see me through all nine months?  It has not been an easy one to answer. Enter Suits Your Belly, a new line of tailored suits, pants and shirts that grow with the baby bump. The unique, patented Zip in Panel allows the expecting mom to wear the pants throughout her pregnancy.

The line was created by Jennifer Skavron of Wisconsin who worked for a Fortune 100 company when she was pregnant. She was so frustrated with trying to find a great maternity suit that by the time her second baby came along she was working with a tailor to create Suits Your Belly.

Suits Your Belly offers suits made with four season wool cashmere, silky smooth and soft to the touch. They are a good weight for those who work in air conditioned offices. The shirts are curve fitting and  made with fine luxurious cottons. The jackets are fully lined and have invisible side zippers.

The shirts cost $80, the pants $99 and the suits $350. They’re not inexpensive but they will keep you looking polished and professional throughout your pregnancy.
