Photography by Brandon Tabiolo, hair and makeup by Marc Cornwall, models, left: Malia Murphey and right, Ana Cunningham, both from Niche Models.

Since this blog followed stylist Kyle Kagamida on his last Hawaii photo shoot before he left for FIDM in L.A., I thought you might enjoy seeing the final results of the photos shot by Brandon Tabiolo. The purpose of the shoot was to give Kyle an opportunity to style some commercial photos for his portfolio and for Brandon to shoot some high fashion photos for his.

The locations were all on the North Shore, where I spent my summers and weekends for many, many years. It’s my favorite place on earth. My sister Berta calls Haleiwa her “home town.”

This great lighting almost makes it look like the models are in Vermont rather than Kaena Point.

Kyle and Brandon go for an edgy black-and-white approach. A bee interrupted the scene shortly after this moment was captured.

Unfortunately, my favorite shot – featuring the models with a red surfboard walking past a little green plantation-style house – was too large to get onto my blog. So was one other shot. I’ll ask Brandon if he can make them a bit smaller so you can see them.

Which is your favorite photo – and why? What would be your dream styling assignment?
