Hawaii’s Most Glamorous or Ghoulish to Win a Year of Free Shopping at Goodwill

Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, Inc. is calling all princesses, pirates, ghosts and ghouls to conjure up their best Halloween costume concepts for an opportunity to win a year of free shopping at Goodwill.

Goodwill’s “GLAM! and Ghouls Costume Contest” runs from Oct. 1 to 30. To enter register at the Goodwill Hawaii website (www.higoodwill.org), visit a local Goodwill store for costumes or costume accessories, and then e-mail a photo of your creation to Goodwill. Photos of original costumes using at least one item purchased at a Goodwill store in Hawaii will be uploaded to Goodwill Hawaii’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GoodwillHawaii).

The original costume with the most “likes” by Oct. 30 will be designated winner of the grand prize and the designer will be notified just in time for Halloween and the remaining holiday shopping season.

Entrants will be encouraged to share descriptions of how items found at Goodwill added to the glamour or gruesomeness of their costume. Individuals may also visit the Facebook page often to exercise their right to vote by “liking” as many costumes as they wish.

The entrants with the most popular costumes will also be invited to showcase their creativity at the Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila Fifth Annual Craft Fare and Street Festival, being presented by the Kaimuki Business and Professional Association on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Waialae Avenue and Kaimuki Community Park. The event is free and open to the public.

For more information and the complete contest rules, visit www.higoodwill.org. Terms and conditions are subject to change.
