Honolulu artist Maya Portner is going to have her work featured at a gallery in Brooklyn, New York later this month. A prolific artist, Portner (cousin of Fashion Forum member and co-founder of Hifi, Toby Portner) moves from medium to medium with equal grace and aplomb. It’s always exciting when a local artist catches the attention of gallery owners on the Mainland, especially New York! The juror for the show is curator of the Guggenheim, which is a very special honor for Maya.
If you happen to be in the vicinity, here’s where to find her work:
When she’s not creating art, Maya works for Tim Bostock at the ARTS at Marks in Chinatown.

I love her work. I have seen her work in the past and fell in love with it.
