When thinking of Chai Studio, located in Ward Warehouse at the far Diamond Head end (across from Menchie’s), one tends to think of things from India: antique chests, pouf ottomans, hand embroidered textiles, and such. However owner Amerjit Ghag also sources fabulous finds from other far flung places such as Morocco and Turkey.

I absolutely love Chai Studio’s Turkish towels. They take me right back to my favorite room in all the world in La Maisons de Cappadoces in Cappadocia. They are so incredibly soft that you can’t believe they’re practical as well. But they are!

They’re absorbent, quick drying and machine washable. And they just get softer and better with use and washing. These towels are hand woven by Turkish women in the Black Sea and Aegean regions of Turkey, following traditions that have been in place for hundreds of years.

You really have to try them to believe…..

They are each approximately 30 x 60 inches. (Since they’re handwoven, dimensions are never exact.) Prices range from $30 – $60, depending on the weave.
