I’ve been chatting with friends all day about the Oscar dresses, many of which were incredibly beautiful. They all wanted to know which was my fave. Gotta be Charlize Theron in her sleek white Christian Dior Couture. She was resplendent!

Versace definitely did right by Halle Berry. Perfection! I love the slight nod to the ’20s, as well as the art deco movement, a direction many designers seem to be going. Can’t wait for the fashions of the new “Great Gatsby” movie.

Has George Clooney finally met his match? Stacey Keibler looked simply gorgeous in her Naeem Khan gown. Another nod to the era of art deco.

Olivia Munn was another of my favorites, wearing a bold statement dress by Marchesa that suited her perfectly.

I also thought Anne Hathaway was spectacular in Prada, from the tip of her head to her little toes. And, no, the bust darts did not bother me, although I thought the gown was even more beautiful from the back than the front. Her hair and that necklace were so elegant.

Jane Fonda was resplendent in her Versace dress. What a bold color choice and wow, did it work on her! Let’s hear it for the amazingly fit seniors in Hollywood.

One thing that really bothered me throughout: the shoes. While those mile-high stilettos may look beautiful when an actress is simply standing still, I didn’t see a single one who looked graceful and natural walking in them. While Sally Field’s sneakers may not be chic, they certainly were practical.
