We may not have an “official” Fashion Week in Honolulu but nevertheless we’re heading into a week of fashionable events throughout the city.
The biggest event is Fashion’s Night Out (FNO), Thursday, September 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Ala Moana Center. Ala Moana stores open their doors for cocktail receptions, in-store demonstrations, stylish gifts-with-purchase, trunk shows and fashion shows. Some lines even create special edition items that will only be sold during the event.
Internationally, FNO is a global initiative created by Vogue’s Anna Wintour and Diane vonFurstenberg, among others, to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the fashion industry’s economy and put the fun back into shopping.
This year participating merchants include Michael Kors, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Sand People, M.A.C., Louis Vuitton, Uno de 50 and others.
As mentioned in a previous blog, September 6 also kicks off the Neiman Marcus Beauty Event, http://paularath.com/2012/08/neiman-marcus-fall-beauty-event/ with lots of freebies and samples galore from various vendors.
