This time of year I always wish I was heading to Santa Fe, New Mexico for the Indian Market and Opera season. I have never been but it’s definitely on my bucket list. We travel to Santa Fe and Taos every other year or so because Jerry was born and raised in New Mexico, but he doesn’t like to be there in summer when it’s hot so we usually go in the fall. That means we miss both the Folk Art and the Santa Fe Opera. Sigh.

I do get a mini-fix of Santa Fe every so often with missives from the Santa Fe Weaving Gallery. Owners Jill Heppenheimer and Barbara Lanning scout the entire world for wearable artists and the gallery is a treasure trove. Above  (at the top of this story) is just one little example: Sarah Cavender‘s wire mesh brooch ($95). Find more at www.santafeweavinggallery.com.
