House of Aria, owned by Melody Domingo, began as a pop-up shop in 2009. In July, 2010, it opened its first brick and mortar store in Waiau Center in Pearl City. Now it’s poised to open a second location in Chinatown at 1140 Bethel Street, next door to Super Citizen in a space formerly occupied by Bethel Street Gallery on the corner of Pauahi Street. The space is twice as large as the Pearl City store, at 1,130 square feet.
To kick off the grand opening on First Friday, March 2, doors will open to the public from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be a fashion show featuring lines such as Ark and Co., Lush, Audrey 3 + 1, Everly, Oliverious, Solemio and Enti, to name a few. Patrons will be treated toa dessert bar, a photo booth and swag bags will be given with the first 50 purchases. Prizes will be given away every 30 minutes.
In an effort to give back to the community, House of Aria will donate 10 percent of the night’s proceeds to Kapiolani Health Foundation. Domingo has a special fondness for Kapiolani, as her daughter was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nine years ago.

Catherine Fong of Catherine’s Closet loves a party and she uses every First Friday as a new excuse for a theme party. This month, on March 2, the theme is “Beautiful Bonnets.” Whether you need a chic chapeau for Easter, a spring wedding or polo season, Catherine has you covered. Bring friends and play at the Hat Bar from 5 to 8 p.m. this Friday.
