Photos by Catherine's Closet

Catherine Fong and her staff at Catherine’s Closet are getting on the bandwagon for our Wear Aloha initiative. She is sending us a series of vintage Island-made pieces with ideas on how to style them for maximum effect.

The first (above) is a 1970s McInerny Tropieana Hawaii lotus flower print maxi with a 1950s blood glass necklace from Germany.

Catherine said she would also add this 1950s Hawaiian flower charm bracelet.

If you’re attending First Friday this week, be sure to stop in at Catherine’s Closet, 125 Merchant Street, between 5 and 8 p.m. They are offering 10 percent off all bridal purchases, even a 1959 wedding gown. While there, feel free to sit at the hat bar and play dress-up to your heart’s content. It’s a fun thing to do with girlfriends.

I would love to see you at the Louis Pohl Gallery on First Friday, on Bethel Street, next door to Bambu 2. Jerry and I are featured artists there through July 8 and we’ll be on hand to talk to interested folks about our art.

Love it. One can spend hours in that store. Little store with so many wonderful treasures to be found!
