Lynn Chang's pretty flower pots.

Lynn Chang retired earlier this year as a copy editor – a truly gifted and perfectionistic copy editor – at The Honolulu Advertiser. We were fortunate to have her working with us in the Island Life section.

Lynn always had a creative, entrepreneurial side. For example, she would employ found objects such as palm fronds, creating beautiful baskets out of them. Her latest endeavor is hand painting flower pots with whimsical patterns. We found these adorable pots at Island Keepsakes in Chinatown. The one with the hula skirt would make an ideal gift for a hula sister. The animal prints are for the fashionista in your life.

Which reminds me: Lynn’s daughter, Laura Chang, is a member of the Fashion Forum. She recently moved to Portland but we still hope to see her when she’s home visiting her mom.

These pots are incredibly inexpensive at just $5 and $6.
